Specter had come out against the bill in March, disappointing labor leaders. They had hoped he would be the crucial 60th vote needed to overcome an expected GOP filibuster of the Employee Free Choice Act.

The Pennsylvania senator has since switched from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party, and he said he’s been meeting with labor leaders and fellow senators in hopes of coming up with a compromise he could support.

President Barack Obama said on Thursday that he hoped a compromise could be worked out.
“How do we make it easier for people who want to form a union to at least get a vote and have an even playing field?” Obama said in response to a question during a town hall meeting in Rio Rancho, N.M. “How do we do that, but at the same time get enough votes to pass the bill? That’s what we’re working on right now.”

Specter wouldn’t elaborate on the negotiations about the legislation, but said he is “hard at work trying to find some way to find an answer.”

The bill is a top priority of labor groups.

Joan Swirsky gets it right in her article: The President Who Hates His Country

In just the first 100-days of his tenure, Obama’s words and actions have demonstrated that he is no friend of the country he leads. This is only a smattering of what happened on his recent three-continent trip abroad and to Mexico:

In France, Obama told his audience that America “has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive” toward Europe.

In Prague, Obama – in true utopian-kindergarten fashion – pledged “with conviction” that America will “seek the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons.” In other words, destroy big bad America’s ability to defend itself!

In London, Obama made clear that the world’s financial wealth was no longer made by those inferior leaders Roosevelt and Churchill, effectively ceding America’s leading role in creating and sharing wealth to nations that have never measured up to our country’s bountiful generosity or spirit of free-market entrepreneurship.

In Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Obama sat passively while the Marxist Chavez handed him an American-bashing book and delivered another revile-America speech, while never once rising to defend our country.

In Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Obama again sat passively while the Marxist Ortega blamed the United States for a century of what he called terroristic U.S. aggression in Central America, again emitting not a whisper of defense on our country’s behalf.

In Turkey, Obama said – incredibly and inaccurately – that America was not a Christian nation.

And in his recent trip to Mexico, Obama said that the escalating border violence was essentially America’s fault

more here

This is something that has been talked about very briefly by the press last month. This is a very important issue.. why you ask? How a person thinks or believes is how they will act and in this case how they will govern. If America should apologize for defending it’s country, then Obama won’t act , at least not in a timely matter, when it needs to be defended most of all. If America should be blamed for another country’s drug and violence problems, then he doesn’t recognize the true depth of the problem. If America is not a christian nation, when 70% are, then he is out of touch with the people who put him in office. I bet he wouldn’t sit there and say nothing if a marxist was speaking badly of his wife. His job is to defend America and he took an oath to uphold the constituion of the United States. If he feels or believes differently he should step down.

An interesting report on Accuracy In Media….. FBI changing references to Ayers and Weather Underground? Hmmm…..

A curious thing happened after AIM editor Cliff Kincaid’s column, “‘Ayer Head’ Professor Defends Bill Ayers,” was posted on Sunday night, April 5, 2009. An FBI document about the Weather Underground, which was hyperlinked in the column, was changed by the FBI to delete a reference to the terrorist group. The “Ayer Head” Professor, Dan Kennedy of Northeastern University in Boston, admits he is the one who prompted the FBI to make the curious change. It is all part of an effort to try to separate Ayers, a leader of the Weather Underground and associate of President Barack Obama, from the murders that his group was responsible for.Kennedy, a journalism professor, has come to Ayers defense on at least two occasions. The latest was when the communist was invited-and then disinvited- to speak at Boston College.

Kennedy continues to claim that the Ayers group never killed or injured anyone, except their own members. This is a flat-out monstrous lie, which ignores the admitted and well-documented involvement of the Weather Underground in the 1981 Brinks robbery that left two police officers and a security guard dead.

The threat posed by Ayers is not over. Now a professor at the University of Illinois, he is still a communist and travels abroad, especially to Venezuela, where authoritarian ruler Hugo Chavez hosts members of terrorist groups like the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. Through the Movement for a Democratic Society, Ayers and other Weather Underground members are trying to resurrect another “student movement” on the campuses. This makes the controversy one of more than academic interest.

Part of some U.S. military training is the SERE program, which they use waterboarding, as a one reader of CNSNews.com commented:

I underwent SERE training in the Air Force at Fairchild AFB during the Viet Nam era with no adverse issues. I subsequently completed 300 combat missions and a 23 year career. I suspect nobody on Obama’s staff today could complete 24 hours of SERE without whining to the ACLU. And we expect these people to defend us? Gimmme a break!

A CNSNews.com article:

One of the previously classified Justice Department memos detailing CIA interrogation techniques that was released by Obama last week revealed that waterboarding was routinely used in the training some U.S. military personnel.

The waterboarding took place in the SERE program, an acronym for “Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape.” The formerly classified memos were prepared by the Justicie Department to advise the CIA on the legality of “enhanced techniques” of interrogation that included waterboarding.

An August 2002 memo on CIA interrogation tactics used on some captured al Qaeda terrorists said the “same techniques” continued to be used on some U.S. military personnel during SERE training.

Those “same techniques” included waterboarding, according to the memo. The memo further stated that waterboarding had a “near 100 percent” effectiveness rate in extracting information from trainees, while no soldiers were harmed physically or psychologically by it.

“The mission [of SERE] is to train military members to survive an isolation event,” said Kathleen Jabs, spokeswoman for the U.S. Joint Forces Command, the division of the Defense Department that oversees the SERE program. “It could be a full range of things.”

De-classifying to the world, U.S. top secret information when we are still at war is dangerous, unethical and borderlines, in my view, treason. Why do you ask? Now not only do terrorists know what we will and will not do, they know the legal process we go through to come to those conclusions. Oh and by the way, not just terrorists, ANY and all enemies past, present and future of the US. The administration did this based on ideaology and political purposes only. The President’s job first and foremost is to keep this country safe. The Obama administration has undone everything that has kept us safe since 9/11 , they have taken us a few steps back further than even the pre 9/11 mentality and policies which is even more dangerous.

More from CNSNews.com

The Central Intelligence Agency stands by the assertion made in a May 30, 2005 Justice Department memo that the use of “enhanced techniques” of interrogation on al Qaeda leader Khalid Sheik Mohammed (KSM) — including the use of waterboarding — caused KSM to reveal information that allowed the U.S. government to thwart a planned attack on Los Angeles.

Before he was waterboarded, when KSM was asked about planned attacks on the United States, he ominously told his CIA interrogators, “Soon, you will know.”

According to the previously classified May 30, 2005 Justice Department memo that was released by President Barack Obama last week, the thwarted attack — which KSM called the “Second Wave”– planned “ ‘to use East Asian operatives to crash a hijacked airliner into’ a building in Los Angeles.”

KSM was the mastermind of the first “hijacked-airliner” attacks on the United States, which struck the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Northern Virginia on Sept. 11, 2001.

The CIA imposed very tight restrictions on the use of waterboarding. “The ‘waterboard,’ which is the most intense of the CIA interrogation techniques, is subject to additional limits,” explained the May 30, 2005 Justice Department memo. “It may be used on a High Value Detainee only if the CIA has ‘credible intelligence that a terrorist attack is imminent’; ‘substantial and credible indicators that the subject has actionable intelligence that can prevent, disrupt or deny this attack’; and ‘[o]ther interrogation methods have failed to elicit this information within the perceived time limit for preventing the attack.’”

The quotations in this part of the Justice memo were taken from an Aug. 2, 2004 letter that CIA Acting General Counsel John A. Rizzo sent to the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel.

Before they were subjected to “enhanced techniques” of interrogation that included waterboarding, KSM and Zubaydah were not only uncooperative but also appeared contemptuous of the will of the American people to defend themselves.

“In particular, the CIA believes that it would have been unable to obtain critical information from numerous detainees, including KSM and Abu Zubaydah, without these enhanced techniques,” says the Justice Department memo. “Both KSM and Zubaydah had ‘expressed their belief that the general US population was ‘weak,’ lacked resilience, and would be unable to ‘do what was necessary’ to prevent the terrorists from succeeding in their goals.’ Indeed, before the CIA used enhanced techniques in its interrogation of KSM, KSM resisted giving any answers to questions about future attacks, simply noting, ‘Soon you will know.’”

After he was subjected to the “waterboard” technique, KSM became cooperative, providing intelligence that led to the capture of key al Qaeda allies and, eventually, the closing down of an East Asian terrorist cell that had been tasked with carrying out the 9/11-style attack on Los Angeles.

The May 30, 2005 Justice Department memo that details what happened in this regard was written by then-Principal Deputy Attorney General Steven G. Bradbury to John A. Rizzo, the senior deputy general counsel for the CIA.

“You have informed us that the interrogation of KSM—once enhanced techniques were employed—led to the discovery of a KSM plot, the ‘Second Wave,’ ‘to use East Asian operatives to crash a hijacked airliner into’ a building in Los Angeles,” says the memo.

“You have informed us that information obtained from KSM also led to the capture of Riduan bin Isomuddin, better known as Hambali, and the discover of the Guraba Cell, a 17-member Jemaah Islamiyah cell tasked with executing the ‘Second Wave,’” reads the memo. “More specifically, we understand that KSM admitted that he had [redaction] large sum of money to an al Qaeda associate [redaction] … Khan subsequently identified the associate (Zubair), who was then captured. Zubair, in turn, provided information that led to the arrest of Hambali. The information acquired from these captures allowed CIA interrogators to pose more specific questions to KSM, which led the CIA to Hambali’s brother, al Hadi. Using information obtained from multiple sources, al-Hadi was captured, and he subsequently identified the Garuba cell. With the aid of this additional information, interrogations of Hambali confirmed much of what was learned from KSM.”

Since the Obama Administration released our secrets, let’s release the memos that show the information we received and the attacks that were PREVENTED, by using these enhanced interrogations.

I may change the name of my blog to “Politically Incorrect”. Why?

I’m really getting tired of the hate if you happen to have a different view or opinon other than the so called “politically correct mafia”. Because if someone has a different view or opinion in matters of say….. gay marriage, it doesn’t mean they should lie about it. As is suggested by Alicia Jacobs ,another judge in the Miss USA Pageant….. In the LA Times

In a blog item titled “Pretty is as pretty does,” Jacobs offers a behind-the-scenes account of the judges and pageant officials involved. Included is Jacobs’ account of her reaction as she heard the answer:

“As she continued to speak, I saw the crown move further & further away from her. When she finished, she looked strangely proud for a moment. Personally, I was STUNNED on several levels. First, how could this young woman NOT know her audience and judges? Let’s not forget that the person asking the question is an openly gay man, at least 2 people on the judges panel are openly gay. Another judge has a sister in a gay marriage. Her very own state pageant director, KEITH LEWIS is an openly gay man who has been a very generous benefactor of hers…in many ways. (2 ways in particular….if you get my drift??) Did I mention I was STUNNED?”

Stunned? Really? My Dear Ms. Jacobs, ….Miss California, Carrie Prejean did know what she was saying and WHO she was saying it to. Why should she lie to be “politically correct”. The honesty, integrity and sincerity she showed in answering the question asked of her instead of lying to you and the other judges, I know is something hard to comprehend when you don’t have those qualities yourself. STUNNED should be the reaction to the vulgar name calling that Perez Hilton resorted to. STUNNED is what the pageant directors should be from Perez’s vulgar rantings.

But instead of apologizing for pageant judge Perez Hilton’s vile behavior, the pageant director of the Miss California contest, Keith Lewis, sent a note to Hilton throwing Prejean under the bus: “I am personally saddened and hurt that Miss CA USA 2009 believes marriage rights belong only to a man and a woman…Religious beliefs have no place in politics in the Miss CA family.”

But gutter profanity and misogyny do?

So why is Ms. Prehean under assault by this left-wing blogger? Because she stands for what “the Bible says”? Or because she was raised to value “heterosexual marriage” as the only valid form of marriage in the church as most of us were?

Ms. Garofolo’s comments about the Tea Party Protestors being “Racist Rednecks” angry at the presence of a “black man” in the White House. But when Ms. Garafolo in March 2003 said (after participating in an anti war protest): “There has been so many inappropriate responses to dissent which is the most patriotic thing you can do and the First Amendment guarantees everyone’s right to speak out.” Mr. Hilton did not like the answer he got from Ms. California and now she is an “intolerant B&^%” who gave the “worst answer in pageant history“.Yet, the crazed white red-neck racists cannot protest or dissent. Nor apparently can the pretty blonde Christian beauty Queen.

Are you starting to see a pattern developing here?

Do as I say not as I do.

Why does the Obama Administration hate children? Why would I say that? Here are three reasons on the record as to why Obama and others in his administration are lying to the American people when he claims he is for families and children.

Abortion – No matter your view on abortion , there is no dispute that Obama has the most radical voting record in favor of it. According to Fact Check

CBN Correspondent David Brody: Real quick, the born alive infant protection act. I gotta tell you that’s the one thing I get a lot of emails about and it’s just not just from Evangelicals, it about Catholics, Protestants, main – they’re trying to understand it because there was some literature put out by the National Right to Life Committee. And they’re basically saying they felt like you misrepresented your position on that bill.

Obama: Let me clarify this right now.

Brody: Because it’s getting a lot of play.

Obama: Well and because they have not been telling the truth. And I hate to say that people are lying, but here’s a situation where folks are lying. I have said repeatedly that I would have been completely in, fully in support of the federal bill that everybody supported – which was to say – that you should provide assistance to any infant that was born – even if it was as a consequence of an induced abortion. That was not the bill that was presented at the state level. What that bill also was doing was trying to undermine Roe vs. Wade.

Who’s “Lying?”

NRLC objects. They point to evidence that SB 1082, the bill Obama voted against in committee, was amended to contain a “neutrality clause” that is identical to one contained in the federal law. (The Illinois government’s legislative information Web site shows the proposed amendment, but doesn’t give results for votes in committee. NRLC’s documents show that the amendment was adopted.) Since he voted against the state bill, NRLC says, his claimed worry about Roe v. Wade is a smokescreen, intended to cover up his unconcern with the protection of infant lives.
In the NRLC white paper, Legislative Director Douglas Johnson writes that Obama “really did object to a bill merely because it defended the proposition, ‘A live child born as a result of an abortion shall be fully recognized as a human person and accorded immediate protection under the law.’ And it is that reality that he now desperately wants to conceal from the eyes of the public.”

NRLC posted documents – which are so far undisputed – showing that Amendment 001 was adopted in committee and added the following text: “Nothing in this Section shall be construed to affirm, deny, expand, or contract any legal status or legal right applicable to any member of the species homo sapiens at any point prior to being born alive as defined in this Section.” That wording matches exactly the comparable provision in the federal law.

Education

Killing the voucher program in D.C. the flip flop. According to CBS news in an article in March.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs insinuated today that President Obama will reverse a provision in the omnibus spending bill to terminate school vouchers for underprivileged students in Washington, D.C.

The president signed the $410 billion dollar omnibus spending bill for fiscal year 2009 this afternoon. It includes a provision that lets funding for the city’s school voucher program to expire at the end of the 2010 school year. The program allows about 1,700 mostly low-income and minority students to attend private schools as an alterative to the struggling D.C. public school system.

The Senate voted 50 to 39 Tuesday to reject a Republican-sponsored amendment to the spending bill which would have extended the voucher program beyond the 2009-2010 school year.

News on how good these programs are and the statistics were hidden at the time democrats voted to kill this bill see Real Clear Politics article

Fiscal Child Abuse

While there is no doubt that the Bush Administration spent a tremendous amount during his entire Presidency of 8 years , there is no doubt the unprecedented spending that his administration has passed in under 3 months. Here are some figures from the bipartisan CBO :

From Fact Check

A Page from the Bush Playbook
In 2006, we criticized President Bush for bragging about reducing “nondefense discretionary spending” without mentioning that overall spending had increased dramatically. Obama is adopting at least that page of the Bush playbook. He said:

Obama: [A]s a percentage of gross domestic product, we are reducing non-defense discretionary spending to its lowest level since the ’60s, lower than it was under Reagan, lower than it was under Clinton, lower than it was under Bush, or both Bushes.

Even if Obama’s claim were accurate, it would be misleading. Nondefense discretionary spending amounts to just under 20 percent of total spending in Obama’s 2010 budget proposal. It excludes military spending, homeland security spending and rapidly rising “mandatory” spending including Social Security and Medicare.

If $1.3 trillion is the starting point, it is roughly accurate to say that Obama is proposing to cut the figure in half. CBO’s most recent projections of Obama’s budget put the deficit in fiscal 2013 (the last budget that would come from Obama’s current term in office) at $672 billion. That’s a 48 percent reduction from $1.3 trillion. The reduction would be even greater under the more optimistic projections from his own Office of Management and Budget. OMB projects the deficit will be about $533 billion in fiscal 2013, amounting to a cut of 59 percent.

However, both OMB and CBO predict that deficits would begin to shoot up again after the initial four-year period. OMB predicts a rise to $712 billion in 2019, and CBO forecasts a much sharper rise, reaching more than $1 trillion in fiscal 2018 and nearly $1.19 trillion in 2019 – about the same amount Obama inherited upon entering office.

Janeane Garofalo is a liberal facist. This a perfect example of MANY un-hinged rantings she has displayed. To give her air time is very irresponsible of MSNBC, but then again , they have poor management, which is evident in their ratings. I suppose this could be a way for MSNBC to get more ratings perhaps, by letting this facist on their show, it’s like driving by a train wreck and you slow down and gawk.

I almost feel sorry for her, why you ask, I think it’s evident that she may have a personality disorder, as in narcissim or border line personality disorder. The sad thing is that there are too many people that are so caught up in the pop culture and thrive on this kind of rantings, as they have no desire or ability to be open minded to fnd the truth elsewhere.

The Obama Administration is now ordering the giant automaker to prepare for bankruptcy-just in case. Which, of course, is exactly what GM should have done before wasting billions of taxpayer dollars.

The Obama oversight task force contends that its job is to ensure that the money is spent wisely. The task force today announced that it had given GM 60 days to develop a plan for bankruptcy, in case its financial problems continue unresolved.

Not surprisingly, when the Treasury Department issued the bankruptcy preparation orders to GM yesterday morning, GM experienced a signficant drop in stock prices. Overall, shares dropped by more than 16 percent in yesterday’s trading after the government issued its latest demands.

Writing for National Review Online, Henry Payne is right when he quotes Tennessee Senator Bob Corker (R), who stated that “the delay of several months has increased the severity and sent billions of taxpayer dollars down the drain.” And that’s why many conservatives had pushed for bankruptcy back in Fall. Unfortunately, $17.4 billion of the taxpayers’ money had to be wasted on GM and Chrysler before the federal government’s failed social engineers finally realized what many Americans had for months on end. Somehow, looking now at that mountain of debt pile up, “I told you so” simply falls flat.

The lesson in all of this is not simply that government is inept and contaminates its own house time after time and again. Everyone already knows that. But many people now need to realize that government will also hurt those who come to it for help, too—and even those government claims it is actually trying to help. By putting its trust in the federal government, GM has found itself worse off than if it had taken the painful, but tried-and-true route of bankruptcy. Instead, however, it trusted Big Government. And instead of freedom, it woke up to find itself firmly bound by government regulation. As GM awaits the inevitable end, it can find little solace in the fact the American taxpayer may share the selfsame fate: a slow and painful demise bound to the plank of Big Government.

In Maine the democrats have proposed a bill to allow non-citizens to vote. So why not abolish all our laws for citizenship and just run a country amok?! .

Below is part of the article by Glenn Garvin

Bill LD 1195, introduced by Democrats in the state legislature last month, would allow non-U.S. citizens to vote in Maine’s municipal elections. The bill is getting a sympathetic hearing from state officials who, extraordinarily, feel that Maine has been tinted by restricting voting to actual Americans. “Whenever you get more people to participate, you add legitimacy to that process,” Matthew Dunlap, Maine’s secretary of state, told The Portland Press Herald.

The bill would apply only to legal, resident immigrants, but that may be only a first step. The vague rationales for LD 1195 _ an increase in the numbers of voters and their ethnic diversity _ would certainly apply to refugees and illegal immigrants as well.

Even more expansive is the reasoning of Eric Nkusi, the executive director of a Portland immigrant-advocacy group called the Intore Club. “We pay the same taxes,” he says, an argument that would even apply to Canadian tourists who stop at gas stations on their way to their annual winter sunburn in Florida.

There’s nothing to stop Maine legislators from passing LD 1195 but the apparently slender thread of their own common sense. Federal law and the U.S. Constitution have little to say on the subject of local elections, and a handful of small towns already allow it _ notably Takoma Park, Md., a people’s-republic suburb of Washington that has also declared itself a nuclear-free zone and severed diplomatic relations with Burma.

If a presumed political adult like Maine follows suit, it may be time to start worrying. For there’s a small but determined movement to abolish the link between citizenship and voting that would surely leverage victory into a national initiative.

More HERE

This is an obvious attempt by democrats to get more votes or a powergrab,if you will, but be careful what you wish for. It has been my observation that liberals run head first into their ideological lawmaking without considering consequences of their actions
